UPDATE: Cocoa wins the 4A Florida State Championship. Congratulations to the the Cocoa High School Tigers. The final score was 31-17. Here are the final stats.

On a side note, for those wondering who the officials here:

Ref: Michael Parks
Ump: Gary Owens
Line: Matt Kellar
LJ: Mike Lemley
BJ: Kyle Olson
FJ: Jeremy Lowery
SJ: Troy Robinson

And that’ll do it folks. Bolles forces a punt but muffs it in their own territory. The final score will likely be 31-17 but we will give you the final tally as soon as this one is over.

With over 400 rushing yards on the game, Cocoa looks to salt this one away. Around 2:00 minutes left and they are up 31-17. It looks as if Cocoa is going to come away with a winning having only one pass attempt and zero completions the entire game.

After scoring a touchdown and narrowing the margin to 31-17 Bolles tries an onside kick but Cocoa recovers. It is going to take a minor miracle for Bolles to pull this one out now. Less than four minutes to go in the game.

Bolles marches down the field on the first drive of the second half but has to settle for a field goal. That makes is 24-10. Now it is time for the Bolles defense to step up and stop this Cocoa rushing attack.

The halftime score is 24-7 Cocoa with the Tigers rushing for over 200 yards in the first half. Bolles is going to have to regroup at halftime and figure out how to stop this rushing attack. In the second half, Cocoa is going to continue to run the ball and drain the clock. If Bolles cannot stop the rushing attack Cocoa is going to walk away with the 4A state title.

After marching down the field, Cocoa has to settle for a 22 yard FG to go up 24-7 late in the 2nd quarter. Bolles has good field position and really needs to get points on this drive before going into halftime.

Earlier today we said that Bolles had to stop the Cocoa rushing game if they had any chance to win this game. Halfway through the second quarter – 18 carries, 235 yards, 3 TDs by the Cocoa offense. It doesn’t look good right now. Still 21-7 Cocoa.

Bruce Judson gets into the action and rips off a 75 yard TD run. Cocoa now has touchdown runs of 70 yards and 75 yards. Bolles might be in for a very, very long night. 21-7 Cocoa.

Cocoa is up 14-7 halfway through the second quarter. Cocoa dominated early, going up 14-0 but Bolles is fighting back. Bolles will have to find a way Javian Hawkins who is already over 100 yards rushing. He could be on his way to a huge game if the Bolles front seven doesn’t stiffen.

The Baker vs Pahokee game played before this one went down to the wire so we expect this to be a great game as well. We will try to do some touchdown and score updates on this post so come back and update around 7:00 pm. Will Bolles win its 12th state championship tonight?
