Every year there is a debate as to how many teams should make the high school football playoffs in the state of Texas. In the 6-Man 1A designation 32 teams from District 1 (DI) and 32 teams from District 2 (DII) make it into the playoffs that start on the second Friday of November. There is a Region 1, 2, 3 and 4 set up for the 32 team bracket.
The first round is known as bidistrict with the second round being regionals then into quarterfinals before the final four. The final four will include semifinals games and then the state championship which is not played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington like some of the other designations in Texas.
There is a chance we will see the bracket expanded in the near future but in 2016 expect to see 32 teams from DI and DII get into the playoffs with a chance to make it all the way to the state championship game.
